BALI'S FIRST CORAL RESTORATION COMMUNITY
dedicated to connecting people, fostering innovation, and making a tangible impact on the environment. Together, we can create a better future for our oceans
WELCOME TO CORAL SENSE
We understand the immense dedication of scientists who spend their lives researching and uncovering the causes of our planet's problems. These researchers strive to find solutions and reach out to governments for support, yet often their findings remain unheard of. Similarly, there are talented technologists and innovators creating groundbreaking solutions to help our planet. However, they lack the time and resources to promote their inventions. Our mission is to bridge the gap between scientists, technologists, and investors. We aim to connect these dedicated individuals and provide the support they need.

Our dream is to popularize marine conservation by bringing together nations, science, investment and innovation to create a better future for the ocean.
We pride ourselves on our commitment to supporting local communities by providing employment opportunities. Our diverse team comprises both local residents from various Indonesian islands and international members, all working together towards the conservation of Bali's coral reefs.
Hi, I'm Lia
and I’ve been living in Bali for 8 years. I’m passionate about collecting moments that truly touch and inspire. For the past 10 years, I’ve been running a travel agency called Compass Trip, which is focused on transformative journeys.
A few years ago, I joined expeditions—caring for orphaned orangutans, rescuing circus bears, and studying sharks. Then, I found myself on a marine expedition, growing corals in Papua. That experience changed my life. The underwater world became my greatest teacher.
Nature recharges you, reconnects you with your true self, and teaches you to find happiness within. I’ve gathered a team of ocean lovers, and together, we’re growing corals on Bali’s east coast. This not only helps the planet, but also heals those who experience it. Our expeditions are about sharing this transformative magic that nature offers.
OUR TEAM
LEON
Leon has been diving since 2005 and is an active SSI Scuba Instructor with several hundred certifications, from Open Water Diver to Tech Diver. In addition to his approach to dive education, Leon's passion lies in anything coral and his mission is to preserve marine ecosystems, especially coral reefs. He owns the Livingseas Asia diving center, specializing in coral reef restoration and is the founder of Livingseas Foundation. He is a true legend, having grown over 100,000 corals in recent years.
SOPHIE
Sophie, a dreamer from Italy, is our dear friend and a graduate in Marine Biology from James Cook University in Australia. She is an advisor for our scientific department, initiating and actively participating in coral research. Friends joke that she is a rare specimen because she went into biology not to have more contact with nature. She enjoys spending time in the laboratory and conducting research, getting to the bottom of things and understanding what is happening and how to fix it.
KETUT
If you've heard about the kindness, sincerity, and magic of the Balinese people, Ketut is the person who will make you feel it with every fiber of your being. Here’s a conversation with Ketut: "Ketut, why did you get goats? For meat or milk?" Ketut replied: "For happiness, I don’t need anything else from them." We've been friends with Ketut and his family for over 5 years, and every day he teaches us the true values of life and happiness. Ketut is one of the founders of our project and a wonderful person.
DANIEL
Daniel is a freediver from Switzerland, frequently visiting Bali since 2011. He is a shareholder from the the Blueearthvillage in Amed and a passionate supporter of Goa Surya and Coral Sense. Daniel's deep connection to the ocean goes beyond just freediving; it's a lifelong passion that drives him to protect and restore the marine ecosystems he loves. He believes that preserving the ocean's beauty is essential not just for our enjoyment, but for the future of our planet.
